Dr. David Lassman

Biography

David Lassman is a Distinguished Service Professor at Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy, where he has been a faculty member since 2013. He specializes in organizational behavior and leadership strategy, teaching several courses including those focused on culture change as part of Executive Education Programs. With 25 years of operations engineering management experience, David has worked in a diverse range of industries, including automotive, high-end custom furniture, and food processing. His career began as an industrial engineer at General Motors, and he later served as Vice President of Engineering Operations at Axicon Technologies, where he contributed to the design and manufacturing of Segway HT transmissions. David also ran his own consulting practice, helping businesses with process re-engineering and organizational effectiveness. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Mechanical Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University.
