Biography

Deirdre Gobeille Snyder is a lecturer in management communication at the Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. She teaches business communications courses at the Cornell Peter and Stephanie Nolan School of Hotel Administration and the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management. Prior to her role at Cornell, Snyder served as an associate professor at Providence College in Rhode Island where she taught courses on organizational behavior, negotiations, and human resources to undergraduates, graduate students, and executives. Her research interests include the impact of loneliness on belonging at work, team accountability, and social growth mindsets. Her work has been published in several reputable journals, including the Journal of Applied Psychology and the Journal of Business Ethics, and she has presented at the Academy of Management annual meetings. Snyder holds a PhD in organizational behavior from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master's degree in international business from the University of South Carolina, focusing on marketing and Spanish. In addition to her academic credentials, Snyder has extensive experience in corporate communications across various organizations including CNN Latin America. She has lived and worked in Spain, Mexico, and Argentina.
