Delia Dumitrica joined Erasmus University's Department of Media and Communication in 2015, focusing her research on Political Communication. Her work examines protest communication, digital activism, and the discursive construction of political functions in new media, alongside an interest in mundane forms of nationalism. Dumitrica is a co-investigator on the project "Civic Culture: Investigating Emerging Practices of Democratic Participation in Canada," funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. She is also an NWO ASPASIA grantee, holding a PhD in Communication from the University of Calgary, where she researched policy, journalistic, and everyday understandings of the Internet in Canada. In addition to her research agenda, Dumitrica is involved in educational innovation. As a Fellow at EUR's Center for Learning Innovation, she explores the use of digital learning objects in teaching qualitative research methods. She was awarded a Comenius Senior Fellowship for her project on adaptive digital environments for qualitative research learning and currently serves as co-chair of the Young Erasmus Academy.
