Biography

Derek Egan Anderson holds a B.A. from Rutgers University and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin. He works in a broad array of research areas including philosophical logic, feminist epistemology, social epistemology, philosophy of race and gender, philosophy of language, and the history of analytic philosophy. Additionally, he dabbles in philosophy of mind, philosophy of art, philosophical methodology, metaphysics, cognitive science, and experimental philosophy. Anderson's recent book, "Metasemantics, Intersectionality, Truth in the Misinformation Age," was published by Palgrave Macmillan in September 2021. Since starting his teaching career at Boston University in 2015, he has taught regular courses such as Reason & Argumentation, Introduction to Ethics, and Introduction to Philosophy, as well as advanced courses including Metaphysics & Epistemology and Philosophy of Gender and Sexuality.
