Biography

Dimitra Lazaridou-Chatzigoga is an Affiliated Lecturer in the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics at the University of Cambridge, where she holds a BA/Leverhulme Small Research Grant project titled 'Investigating Generics in Languages: Toolkit.' She is currently a Senior Research Associate at the University of East Anglia, focusing on 'Experimental Argument Analysis: Reasoning Stereotypes.' Her research interests lie at the intersection of theoretical and experimental methods, particularly in the fields of formal semantics, pragmatics, and psycholinguistics. She investigates issues surrounding semantics interfaces with syntax and pragmatics, language acquisition, and bilingualism, drawing data from mono- and bilingual adult and child populations across a variety of languages. Lazaridou-Chatzigoga has previously held teaching and research positions at various institutions in the UK, Germany, Greece, and Spain. Her PhD dissertation, part of the Cognitive Science of Language program at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, analyzed the notion of definiteness and the interplay of definite articles and determiners in Greek. She received her DEA (MPhil equivalent) from the same institution, completing an interdisciplinary program that integrated philosophy, linguistics, and psychology.
