Biography

Don Dippo is a University Professor, Emeritus, and Senior Scholar in the Faculty of Education at York University. His research interests focus on social political organization of knowledge, refugee forced migration studies, environmental sustainability education, university/community relations, and teacher education. For over a decade, he served as co-director of the Borderless Higher Education for Refugees (BHER) project, an initiative aimed at providing post-secondary education opportunities to individuals living in the Dadaab refugee camps in northeastern Kenya. He has been influential in shaping a refugee research agenda through his various publications and presentations. In recognition of his contributions, Dippo was appointed a Member of the Order of Canada in 2024.
