Doug Cripps currently serves as the Academic Lead at the Centre for Experiential Service Learning (CESL) at the University of Regina. He collaborates closely with faculty members to introduce, enhance, and expand community-based engagement opportunities for students. With a long history of experiential learning, he coordinated the Faculty’s Fieldwork program from 1998 to 2012. Doug maintains an active teaching portfolio in Kinesiology and Health Studies, primarily focusing on therapeutic recreation and adapted physical activity. Prior to his role at CESL, Doug held the position of Associate Dean (Undergraduate) from 2013 to 2022 and served as a Faculty Associate at the Centre for Teaching and Learning from 2012 to 2013. He is also committed to volunteer work, serving on local, provincial, and national boards, including the Active Living Alliance for Canadians with Disabilities, Coalition for Active Living, Saskatchewan Association of Recreation Professionals, Saskatchewan Highland Dance Association, and Regina Highland Dance Association. Outside of work, Doug enjoys cycling and has a diverse collection of bikes for different terrains and activities like snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
