Douglas Medin is the Louis W. Menk Professor Emeritus of Psychology and holds a joint appointment in the School of Education and Social Policy at Northwestern University. He has previously taught at Rockefeller University, the University of Illinois, and the University of Michigan. His research primarily focuses on concepts of categorization and has expanded to include cross-cultural studies of biological categorization, reasoning, cultural cognitive dimensions, moral reasoning, and decision making.
