Biography

Dylan Palmer is an Adjunct Professor specializing in Double Bass at the School of Music. He has made significant contributions to the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra (VSO), serving as Principal Double Bass since 2010. Prior to his position with VSO, he was a member of the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, Florida. Dylan has participated in numerous prestigious music festivals, including Tanglewood, Pender Harbour Chamber Music, and the Sarasota Music Festival, showcasing his commitment to excellence in music. As a dedicated music educator, he currently heads the bass department at the Vancouver Academy of Music and serves on the faculty of the VSO School of Music. Dylan holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of North Texas, where he studied under renowned pedagogue Jeff Bradetich. In addition to his academic responsibilities, he teaches private lessons in double bass, nurturing the next generation of musicians.
