Biography

Ela Klecun received her BSc in Computing from Guildhall University and her PhD in Information Systems from the London School of Economics (LSE). Her research is focused on developing a greater understanding of how information communication technologies (ICT) shape institutions, work practices, and the experiences of professional groups and individuals. The majority of her research concerns the application of ICT in healthcare, including nation-wide infrastructures, shared electronic health records, and medical applications. She is particularly interested in issues of digital exclusion and the role of ICT in learning and education. In addition to her research, Klecun has published in major information systems and health informatics journals, including the Journal of the Association for Information Systems (JAIS), European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS), and the British Medical Journal (BMJ). She has served as a reviewer for major information systems and health informatics journals and conferences for over a decade and is an associate editor for the International Journal of Digital Literacy and Digital Competence.
