Biography

Ela Klecun is an Associate Professor in Information Systems at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She received her BSc in Computing from Guildhall University and a PhD in Information Systems from LSE. Her research is focused on developing a greater understanding of how information and communication technologies (ICT) shape institutions and work practices, particularly within professional groups and individual experiences. The majority of her research concerns the application of ICT in healthcare, including nation-wide infrastructures and shared electronic health records. She is particularly interested in digital exclusion related to learning and education through ICT. Her research has been funded by UK research councils and published in major information systems and medical journals, including the Journal of the Association for Information Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, Journal of Information Technology, and the British Medical Journal. Over the past decade, she has served as a reviewer for leading Information Systems and health informatics journals and conferences, and has been an associate editor for the International Journal of Digital Literacy and Digital Competence.
