Biography

Elaine Law is a Clinical Professor and the Regional Coordinator for San Jose at the University of the Pacific. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Law completed a postgraduate year residency at UCSF and joined the Pacific family in 2015. She is dedicated to mentoring and guiding pharmacy students as they navigate challenging clinical rotations, specifically during their Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE). Her primary clinical practice areas include internal medicine and ambulatory care pharmacy, with a focus on anticoagulation clinics. Dr. Law is also involved in professional organizations such as the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), where she serves on committees that advance pharmacy practice and help mentor new practitioners. In her teaching, Dr. Law employs the Socratic Method to foster critical thinking and instill professional confidence in her students. Her research interests encompass gastroenterology and counterfeit medications. She has presented various posters at ASHP events and contributed chapters to significant pharmacy texts. Dr. Law is committed to facilitating leadership opportunities in the evolving field of pharmacy practice.
