Dr. Elisabeth Björk Brämberg

Biography

Elisabeth Björk Brämberg is an associate professor of Occupational Medicine and a senior lecturer at the School of Public Health and Community Medicine, Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg. She obtained her PhD in Caring Science in 2008. Her research primarily focuses on the development and evaluation of evidence-based methods aimed at preventing sickness absence and rehabilitating individuals on sick leave due to common mental disorders and musculoskeletal pain. As the principal investigator (PI) of several projects, she evaluates interventions designed to help employees and managers tackle issues related to mental health in workplace settings. Notably, her work includes randomized controlled trials assessing the impact of problem-solving interventions and their effectiveness in facilitating return-to-work for individuals experiencing mental health challenges. She collaborates with multidisciplinary research teams from prominent institutions, including Karolinska Institutet and University of Linköping, to explore the implications and ethical challenges associated with these interventions.
