Biography

Elizabeth Mannix is the Ann Whitney Olin Professor of Management at the Samuel Curtis Johnson Graduate School of Management, Cornell SC Johnson College of Business. Her research and teaching are focused on the factors that make individuals into motivated, high-performing leaders and team members. Specific topics of interest include value-driven leadership, principled negotiation and influence, and fostering diversity and inclusion within teams. She has published extensively in prestigious psychology and management journals such as the Administrative Science Quarterly, Psychological Science, the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, the Journal of Applied Psychology, and the Academy of Management Journal. Mannix has served as a co-editor for a 15-volume book series, Research on Managing Groups and Teams, and her work has received numerous awards from organizations including the Academy of Management and the International Association of Conflict Management. She was the associate dean of Executive MBA programs at Johnson School from 2012 to 2017 and directed the Institute for Social Sciences from 2005 to 2008, promoting interdisciplinary research to increase the university's prominence in social sciences. Mannix is a fellow of the American Psychological Society, the Society for Organizational Behavior, and the Academy of Management.
