Dr. Emily Weigel

Biography

Emily Weigel is a nationally recognized educator at the Georgia Institute of Technology, teaching a diverse range of courses including Intro Biology, Organismal Biology, Ecology Lecture Lab, and upper-level courses in Behavior, Experimental Design, and Statistics. She plays a significant role in mentoring graduate and undergraduate Teaching Assistants (TAs) and instructing graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in the Tech Teaching capstone course through the Center for Teaching and Learning. Additionally, Weigel serves as the Undergraduate Assessment Director and International Plan Advisor, managing approximately one-sixth of Biology majors and providing academic advising to undergraduates. Her dual Ph.D. degrees in Zoology and Ecology, Evolutionary Biology & Behavior were obtained from Michigan State University, following a B.S. in Biology from Georgia Institute of Technology, highlighting her strong background in the biological sciences.
