I’m an Assistant Professor (Teaching) in the Biomedical Engineering department at the University of Calgary. My teaching primarily focuses on engineering design courses, providing opportunities to support students in solving real-world design challenges. I hold a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Carleton University, where my research focused on biomedical signal processing and signal quality analysis. My Master's research at Western University explored the interpretation of electromyography signals in wearable devices. I also hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from the University of Windsor and a Bachelor of Medical Sciences from Western University. My current research focuses on creating equitable and inclusive engineering education environments, which includes developing strategies to support underrepresented students in engineering and integrating end-user perspectives into biomedical engineering design curriculum.
