Biography

Mack Distinguished Professor Emmeline Chuang's research focuses on how health human service organizations improve service access and well-being for underserved populations. Major areas of her research include examining the nature and quality of inter-organizational relationships within health human service organizations and their effects on service access and client outcomes, supporting evidence uptake by frontline practitioners, and understanding how work design affects provider staff satisfaction and quality of care. She has authored 70 peer-reviewed publications along with numerous policy briefs, technical reports, and tools for practitioners. Her research has been funded by notable agencies such as the National Institute on Drug Abuse, William T. Grant Foundation, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and Hitachi Foundation. Prior to her academic career, she served as an AmeriCorps/HealthCorps volunteer and worked as a research analyst at a firm specializing in the evaluation of health and social service programs.
