I am currently a Professor and Head of the Department of Psychology at Macquarie University. My research primarily utilizes computational modeling and eye-movement experiments, employing various methods such as ERP to understand the perceptual, cognitive, and motor processes involved in reading. I have authored more than 60 articles published in international journals such as Brain Behavioral Sciences, Psychological Review, and Psychological Science. My focus is on developing models that describe mental processes, specifically in reading. My new book, "Computational Models of Reading: Handbook," provides a comprehensive review of these models. I maintain an active role in academia, supervising Honors students working on various cognitive psychology topics, particularly related to attention, memory, and reading. I am also engaged in editorial boards for journals like Psychological Review and Visual Cognition, which reflects my commitment to the fields of equity and inclusivity. During the past years, I have not had much time for community engagement due to my administrative roles, but I continue to contribute through peer review. My educational background includes a Ph.D. and M.S. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and a B.S. in Psychology from Iowa State University.
