Dr. Erika Bullock

Biography

Erika Bullock is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Policy Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She specializes in teacher education focusing on mathematics education, particularly within the context of educational equity. Bullock holds a Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning from Georgia State University, where she also obtained her Master’s and Bachelor's degrees in Mathematics Education and Computer Science, respectively. Her research interests intersect with critical pedagogies and the implications of racial dynamics in mathematics education. Bullock has contributed significantly to the field through various media as well as scholarly publications. Her recent writings explore themes of racialized educational disparities, radical reimaginings of mathematics curricula, and strategies for creating equitable learning environments. She actively engages with educators to facilitate discussions about how race affects educational experiences, especially in mathematics. Additionally, she contributes to educational reform efforts aimed at dismantling barriers faced by marginalized students in various learning contexts, including early childhood settings and higher education.
