Biography

Erin Spaulding is an expert in improving digital literacy among older adults and promoting health equity through digital health interventions for chronic disease management. She holds positions as Associate Faculty at the Welch Center for Prevention, Epidemiology, and Clinical Research at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Principal Faculty at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. Spaulding leads the Long-term Wearable Study Core for the ARIC Neurocognitive Study and is a co-investigator at the Center for Mobile Technologies to Achieve Equity in Cardiovascular Health. She has received numerous awards for her research, including the Pilot Award from the Center for Equity in Aging and the New Nurse Faculty Fellowship from the Maryland Higher Education Commission. Spaulding completed her postdoctoral fellowship in cardiovascular epidemiology at Johns Hopkins and earned her PhD from the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing. Her research focuses on the design and evaluation of innovative digital health interventions to improve chronic disease management and access to healthcare for older adults, especially those aged 80 and older.
