Biography

Ethan R. Burris is a Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the Red McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. He is a professor of management who teaches undergraduate and MBA courses on topics such as people analytics, impactful leadership, global management, power politics, group management, and organizational behavior. Burris is a renowned researcher and consultant, recognized for his ability to improve operations and enhance employee engagement in top Fortune 100 technology and financial service companies, as well as in the insurance, retail, and defense sectors. Additionally, he has served as a visiting scholar at companies like Microsoft and Google, focusing on the influence of leaders on employee voice in the workplace and its implications for personal and organizational performance. His work is highly regarded in both industry and academia, and he has presented his research insights to business schools worldwide, gaining features in national media outlets. Besides his teaching duties, Burris co-directs the Texas McCombs Center for Leadership Ethics and holds a courtesy appointment at the Department of Medical Education at UT.
