Biography

Festus Moasun is an Assistant Professor at the School of Social Work. He received his PhD from Wilfrid Laurier University, where he specialized in critical qualitative methodologies and interpretive phenomenology. His research focuses on (dis)Ability, mental health, the Global South, immigrant populations, decoloniality, and knowledge creation. Before joining the University of Windsor, he taught at various institutions, including the University of Ghana and the University of Regina. Moasun has practical experience working with individuals with mental and developmental disabilities and internally displaced youth in Ghana. He is an advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusivity, serving as a co-chair for the School of Social Work's Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Decolonization Committee. Moasun is also a member of the Advisory Board for Innovation & Imagination Health Wellness Inc., a mental health counseling agency in Canada.
