Biography

Fiona Challacombe is an Associate Professor in the Department of Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford. She is also an Honorary Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Oxford Health Foundation Trust. Her work focuses on advancing the understanding and treatment of mental health problems in the perinatal context, specifically during pregnancy and the postnatal period. Her research includes observational epidemiological studies aimed at understanding the mechanisms that influence perinatal mental health and child outcomes. Additionally, she works on the development and evaluation of interventions to support parental mental health in high-risk pregnancies. Current studies include the effectiveness of time-intensive treatments for perinatal OCD and anxiety disorders, patterns of service use and outcomes for perinatal treatments, and the evaluation of maternal mental health services.
