Biography

Fiona Devine is Vice-President and Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Professor of Sociology at The University of Manchester, where she has been a faculty member since 1994. She previously served as Head of Sociology, Head of the School of Social Sciences, and Head of the Alliance Manchester Business School. Her research focuses on social stratification and mobility, with a comparative emphasis on work, employment, and political participation.
