François Champagne is a tenured professor of management, policy, and evaluation at the Department of Health Administration of the University of Montreal. He is a regular researcher at the Institute of Public Health Research (IRSPUM) and collaborates with the International Health Unit at the School of Public Health at the University of Montreal. From 2003 to 2013, he served as a scientific advisor at the Canadian Health Services Research Foundation, now known as the Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement.
