Dr. François Champagne

Biography

François Champagne is a tenured professor of management, policy, and evaluation at the Department of Health Administration of the University of Montreal. He is a regular researcher at the Institute of Public Health Research (IRSPUM) and collaborates with the International Health Unit at the School of Public Health at the University of Montreal. From 2003 to 2013, he served as a scientific advisor at the Canadian Health Services Research Foundation, now known as the Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement. Additionally, he was the Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Canadian Institute for Health Services and Policy Research from 2004 to 2007. He was one of the founding co-directors of HealNet/Relais, a Canadian network dedicated to maximizing the use of evidence in health decision-making. In 2002, he received the Recognition Award from the Quebec Society for Program Evaluation. He has authored books in French, English, Spanish, and Portuguese on the use of epidemiology in management, research methods, evaluation, quality of care, and performance in health care organizations. Since 1976, he has consulted for healthcare organizations, international bodies, and various governments in Canada, France, Africa, Brazil, Haiti, Turkey, the United States, and China.
