Biography

Mezzo-soprano Freda Herseth performs a diverse repertoire, including 40 operatic roles, chamber music, and oratorio, with performances throughout Europe and the United States. She has received critical acclaim for her performances, including the premiere of a work by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Richard Wernick with Riccardo Muti and La Scala Opera Orchestra. She is renowned for her interpretations in contemporary music, having premiered works by William Bolcom and others. She has taught at prestigious institutions and music festivals globally, and her efforts have contributed to the training of a new generation of performers and active arts administrators.
