Dr. Fredrik Lavén

Biography

Fredrik Lavén works as a researcher and teacher in business administration, focusing on management and organization studies. His research interests revolve around organizing, innovation, strategy, and organizational change. He received a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree in Business Studies from the University of Edinburgh in 2002 and completed his doctoral thesis on innovation policy at the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg in 2008. His follow-up studies have focused on comparing innovation initiatives, notably leading a VINNOVA project that emphasizes competence standards and validation methods in practice. His current research targets organizing innovation, specifically related to renewable energy production, and examining organizational change in the context of labor market restructuring. As a visiting fellow at the Institute for Science, Innovation and Society at the University of Oxford in 2011 and a visiting scholar at the Scandinavian Consortium for Organizational Research at Stanford University in 2013, he has expanded his academic network. Fredrik teaches graduate courses and works on executive education programs, focusing on strategy, scenario planning, and innovation management. Additionally, he is associated with NormannPartners, a management consulting firm that specializes in strategic renewal and innovation in business.
