Biography

Geoffrey C. Kellow is an Associate Professor in the College of the Humanities at Carleton University, specializing in the history of political ideas. He earned bachelor's degrees in Political Science from Concordia University in 1994 and in Philosophy from McGill University in 1996. He completed his Master's degree in Political Science, focusing on political theory, at McMaster University in 1998, followed by his Doctorate in Political Science from Carleton University in 2003. Dr. Kellow has previously taught at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton, Alberta, where he instructed in Anthropology and Economics. His research interests primarily involve the philosophical and intellectual origins of liberal capitalism, particularly focusing on the works of Adam Smith and liberal education as reflected in the philosophy of Cicero. Dr. Kellow is actively engaged in examining various aspects of liberalism and how they relate to contemporary political thought.
