Biography

Gerard Seijts is a Professor of Organizational Behaviour at the Ivey Business School, University of Western Ontario. He received his PhD from the University of Toronto in 1998 and joined Ivey in 2000 after serving on the faculty at the I.H. Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba. Gerard’s teaching focuses on leadership programs, where he has engaged with various organizations including Aecon, Intact Financial Corporation, and the Canadian Space Agency. His research spans a diverse range of topics in leadership, including leader character, change, goal setting, training and development, teams, and organizational justice. He has authored and co-authored several impactful books, such as 'Leadership Trial: Manifesto Leadership Development' and 'Good Leaders Learn: Lessons Lifetimes Leadership'. Additionally, Gerard enjoys writing practitioner-oriented articles and has contributed to numerous journal articles, book chapters, and conference papers. He has been recognized with awards for his research, innovation, teaching, and outreach activities at Ivey.
