Biography

Gilly Lau earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of British Columbia in 2013 and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree through UBC’s Flexible PharmD Program in 2023. Before joining the Faculty, Gilly served as a pharmacy manager at a community pharmacy, while also contributing to UBC's Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences as a practice educator for pharmacy students in their introductory and advanced practicums, as well as international pharmacy graduates in structured practical training. Gilly is committed to teaching and mentoring, serving as the Course Coordinator and Lead for Structural Practical Training and Community Engagement. Additionally, Gilly plays a significant role in integrated activities for first-year students. Research interests include student development in pharmacy practice, facilitating community-engaged learning, and quality assurance in experiential education. Gilly has published extensively on factors influencing student engagement in community-based learning in pharmacy, and has obtained grants for enhancing educational resources and practices within pharmacy curricula.
