Dr. Glen Croy

Biography

Glen Croy is an Associate Professor and Deputy Head of the Department of Management at Monash Business School, Monash University. He holds qualifications in management and tourism from the University of Otago, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education from Monash University. His research focuses on sustainable tourism business practices, particularly regarding the adoption of circular economy approaches and their impact on communities and the environment. Over the years, Croy has actively contributed to changes in tourism business models that prioritize sustainable outcomes for marginalized communities. He has been involved in various projects examining the role of media in tourism and how it affects destinations and communities, fostering transformative learning experiences through collaborations with educators and students. Glen has also served as a board member and vice-chairperson for Frankston Tourism from 2004 to 2014 and is an expert with the Tertiary Education Quality Standards Agency (TEQSA). His work aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on responsible tourism and sustainable business practices. Croy's experience and active engagement in the field position him as a significant contributor to academic discussions on the future of sustainable tourism.
