Biography

Greg Richins is a Lecturer in the School of Accounting at the University of New South Wales, where he began his appointment in July 2019. He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Waterloo and has previously taught at prominent institutions including the University of Waterloo, the University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His teaching expertise includes financial accounting, managerial accounting, and auditing at both undergraduate and graduate levels. His research interests focus on employee responses to management control systems, particularly in areas such as employee learning, engagement, goal setting, and workplace reciprocity. He employs experimental and field data methodologies to address significant research questions. In addition to his academic roles, Richins has secured several research grants, including the CAAA Special Topics Research Grant and the AFAANZ Research Grant. He is especially interested in integrating data analytics and visualization into accounting education to equip students for future challenges.
