Biography

Hans Cuypers is a Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). His primary mathematical interests lie in discrete algebra geometry, particularly (finite) geometry, group theory, graph theory, design theory, and algebraic combinatorics. He also has expertise in technology-enhanced education in mathematics and science. Since 2009, Hans has been leading the Discrete Algebra Geometry group at TU/e and is actively involved in the introduction and implementation of blended learning forms at the university. He obtained his MSc in mathematics from Katholieke Universiteit Nijmegen in 1983 and later earned his PhD from the University of Utrecht in 1989. He has held various academic positions, including a visiting Assistant Professorship at Michigan State University and an Assistant position in Kiel, Germany. His work includes organizing meetings and workshops on mathematics, algebra algorithms, and e-learning in mathematics, as well as serving as an editor and reviewer for academic journals.
