Biography

Heather Kanuka is a Professor at the Faculty of Education, University of Alberta, Canada. She previously held a position as an Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary, where she also served as the Associate Director of the Teaching and Learning Centre. In 2004, she was awarded the Canada Research Chair in Teaching and Learning Technologies in Higher Education at Athabasca University. In 2007, she moved to the University of Alberta and was appointed as the Academic Director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning. After completing her five-year term, she returned to her current role as a Professor in the Faculty of Education. Her research focuses on teaching orientations in higher education and academic development.
