Dr. Heidi Brooks

Biography

Heidi Brooks teaches and advises on everyday leadership, focusing on how micro-moments impact and shape lived experiences. She is particularly passionate about creating courageous communities within organizations. Dr. Brooks specializes in large-scale culture change projects that enhance individual and collective leadership effectiveness. She has taught MBA electives, including Interpersonal Dynamics for 15 years, which is among the most in-demand courses at the Yale School of Management. Dr. Brooks pioneered the Everyday Leadership course at SOM and has taught subjects such as Emotional Intelligence, Power & Politics, Managing Teams and Groups, and Coaching Skills for Managers. She received her PhD in psychology from the University of California at Berkeley and holds a BA from Brown University. As a lifelong experiential learner, she incorporates diverse experiences from improvisational theater to language immersion into her teaching.
