Dr. Heidi Feldman

Biography

Heidi M. Feldman is the Ballinger-Swindells Endowed Professor of Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics at Stanford University. She has extensive clinical service experience with children and families during her residency at the University of California, San Diego, and fellowship training at Boston Children’s Hospital. Her major research interests encompass language development, reading in children at risk due to deafness, brain injuries, persistent ear infections, autism, and prematurity. Recent studies involve neuroimaging and cognitive assessments to understand the neural basis of thinking, language, and reading in preterm children. Additionally, she focuses on health services management for developmental behavioral conditions such as ADHD and autism. Dr. Feldman, a member of the inaugural class of the National Academy of Distinguished Pediatric Educators, also leads significant interdisciplinary research in developmental disabilities. She has served as the lead editor for the premier textbook in the field, 'Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics', published in 2022. Her leadership roles and contributions to professional organizations underscore her commitment to improving pediatric education and services.
