Biography

Dr. Helena Frecker is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Toronto. She graduated from the University of Toronto Medical School in 2009 and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the university in 2014. Following her residency, she pursued a two-year fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, focusing on complex vaginal pelvic reconstructive surgery, robotics, advanced laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, and complex open surgery. Concurrently, she completed a Master of Science in Healthcare Quality through Queen's University, graduating in 2016. Dr. Frecker has been a staff member at Michael Garron Hospital since 2016, where she has focused her research on healthcare access for gender diverse individuals and provider competency education in LGBTQ health.
