Henriette Autzen is an Associate Professor at the University of Copenhagen, specializing in Molecular Translational Pharmacology. Her research focuses on the structure and function of membrane proteins, utilizing techniques such as single-particle cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) to further understand taste signaling mechanisms and lipid-protein interactions. Autzen began her research career at Aarhus University, where she earned her Ph.D. in Molecular Biology in 2015, studying P-type ATPases. Following her doctorate, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow in laboratories in both Denmark and the United States, including the University of California, San Francisco, where she honed her skills in membrane protein biochemistry. Autzen is dedicated to developing new strategies for preparing membrane proteins and facilitating their characterization in conditions that mimic their natural environments. She leads her own research group and actively teaches several courses in the field of structural biology.
