Dr. Herrison Chicas

Biography

Herrison Chicas is an Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior at Scheller College of Business at Georgia Tech. He received his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School. His research interests encompass overlapping streams of diversity and immigration, intergenerational behavior, and narrative identity. He studies the descendants of immigrants, exploring personal and familial stories of sacrifice and their larger implications in the workplace. Additionally, he investigates parent-child dyads and how early life interactions affect child careers. His work aims to understand the dynamic nature of how employees ascribe meaning to their lives and work. His research has been published in outlets such as the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology and the Academy of Management Proceedings.
