Dr. Hyejin Cho

Biography

Hyejin Cho is a passionate educator specializing in Korean language education for foreigners. She has a robust academic background with a focus on linguistics and Korean language instruction. Hyejin earned her Master’s degree at Korea University, emphasizing Korean language education for foreign learners, and is currently a Ph.D. candidate (ABD) in Korean Language Culture Education at the same institution. Her master’s thesis investigated authentic listening education, revealing her dedication to the use of genuine teaching materials. She has taught Korean to learners from various backgrounds, showcasing her adaptability and expertise. Hyejin served as a Korean language instructor for six years at Myongji University in Korea and has also participated in the National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) program, which specifically targeted American students. Furthermore, she has experienced instructing adults in the Linguist Army Reserve Training Program. Committed to excellence in education, Hyejin holds multiple certifications, including a National Certificate as a Korean Language Foreign Language Teacher from the Korean government. Additionally, she has obtained Teaching English Language certificates from the University of Hawaii at Hilo and the UCSD Extension, along with other pertinent qualifications in language teaching methods.
