Dr. Immaculate Namukasa

Biography

Immaculate Kizito Namukasa is a Professor and Associate Dean of Graduate Education in Curriculum Studies and Studies in Applied Linguistics at the University of Western Ontario. She holds a BSc/Ed from Makerere University, an MSc from Makerere University (partially completed), and a Ph.D. from the University of Alberta. Her professional journey includes significant contributions to Mathematics Education and Curriculum Pedagogy, with experience in teaching and supervising graduate students in Math Education and Research Methodology. Namukasa has acted as a journal editor for the Ontario Mathematics Gazette and is currently the editor of Math + Code ‘Zine. Her research primarily focuses on Mathematics Teacher Education, Professional Development, and the integration of Technology in education, investigating how these impact learning processes and outcomes. Namukasa’s extensive work includes overseeing graduate courses, partnering with international researchers, and contributing to the development of innovative educational resources that enhance teaching practices in Mathematics. She has supervised numerous PhD dissertations and has a track record of collaborative projects aimed at improving educational standards in Mathematics, both within junior and secondary education systems. Her work reflects a commitment to advancing educational practices by incorporating contemporary digital tools and collaborative methodologies.
