Biography

Ini graduated as a PhD student in 2016 from Antwerp University, where her dissertation, funded by the Special Research Fund – Flanders (FWO), focused on children’s processing of embedded advertising. In 2016, Ini was appointed as the research coordinator for the interdisciplinary VLAIO-SBO project AdLit, which emphasizes Advertising Literacy, in collaboration with Ghent University, Free University of Brussels, and the University of Antwerp. Following this, she served as a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Persuasive Communication at Ghent University. Currently, Ini is working full-time as an assistant professor in the Department of Communication and Cognition at Tilburg University. Her research primarily focuses on minors' processing of persuasive media, with main interests including influencer marketing and children’s media usage and consumer behavior.
