Dr. Irene Felsman

Biography

Irene Crabtree Felsman is an Associate Clinical Professor at the Duke University School of Nursing, with expertise in global community and public health. Her scholarship focuses on developing culturally aligned interventions to improve the health of families from diverse populations in both local and global settings. She has lived and worked in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean, with roles that include direct clinical care, program design, implementation, evaluation, and training/education. Her clinical background includes maternal-child health and a wide range of public health topics. In her current roles, she is also an affiliate of the Duke Global Health Institute and has been involved in several significant publications and grants that address health disparities and immigrant health issues.
