Professor Dr. Irina Nikolova

Biography

Irina Nikolova holds a PhD in psychology from the Open University of the Netherlands and currently serves as an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management at Maastricht University, in the School of Business and Economics, within the Department of Organization, Strategy, Entrepreneurship. Prior to this role, she worked at the Department of Leadership and Organizational Behavior at BI Norwegian Business School. Her research is deeply involved in exploring topics such as organizational change, adaptation to digitalized workplaces, leadership styles including engaging leadership and leader-member exchange, and the impact of organizational climate variables like learning climate and job insecurity climate. Additionally, she investigates the concept of smart cities. Her work has been published in reputable journals including the Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Vocational Behavior, Human Relations, Work and Stress, European Management Journal, and Journal of Personnel Psychology.
