Dr. Ivan Lee

Biography

Associate Professor Ivan Lee is currently the Vice President (Innovation) at Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), where he provides strategic leadership for the implementation of an end-to-end innovation framework that promotes co-innovation with industry. A/Prof Lee joined SIT in 2013 and has been involved in teaching manufacturing operations, engineering design, and entrepreneurship courses. Between 2015 and 2021, he served as the Vice President for Industry & Community, where he oversaw the promotion and development of industry collaborations and community partnerships. He has developed initiatives to enhance innovation and entrepreneurial activities among industry professionals, academic staff, and students. Prior to his current role, A/Prof Lee amassed 27 years of experience in high-tech manufacturing, R&D, and management consulting, focusing on tooling engineering, plastic injection molding, and operations management. He founded BLC Solutions Pte Ltd in 2004 and TrueZ Pte Ltd in 2013, and established a spin-off company from Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology to commercialize web-based product lifecycle management solutions. A/Prof Lee holds a Diploma in Production Engineering (Silver Medal) from Singapore Polytechnic, a Bachelor of Engineering (1st Class Honours) from the National University of Singapore, and a PhD from NUS, where his research focused on intelligent process planning using expert systems.
