J. Christopher Roberts is currently the Chair of Music Education at the University of Washington, where he also serves as a Lecturer and Director of Music Teacher Preparation. He holds a Ph.D. in Music Education (2012), an M.A. in Music Education (2007), and a B.M. in Music Education from the University of Washington, as well as a B.A. in History from Swarthmore College (1991). Additionally, Roberts directs the Kodály Levels Program in Seattle and teaches Kodály Levels at Westminster Choir College in New Jersey. He also serves as a founding instructor for the Smithsonian Folkways Certification Course in World Music Pedagogy.
