Biography

Oboist Jacqueline Leclair is an Associate Professor at McGill University, where she specializes in Woodwind performance. An accomplished musician, she has performed solo chamber music concerts internationally as a member of Ensemble Signal. Leclair previously served on the faculty at the Manhattan School of Music and as an Assistant Professor of Oboe at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) from 2007 to 2012, where she also assumed the role of Director of the MidAmerican Center for Contemporary Music. She has participated in several summer festivals including the Lincoln Center Festival, Chamber Music Conference, and Aguascalientes Chamber Music Festival in Mexico, showcasing a diverse repertoire that emphasizes the study and performance of new music. Leclair has premiered numerous works and is actively involved in presenting contemporary music techniques at prestigious institutions such as UCLA and the Eastman School of Music. Her recordings have garnered critical acclaim, notably her premiere recording of Roger Reynolds' 'Summer Island' and Luciano Berio's 'Sequenza VIIa'. Leclair's academic achievements include a Bachelor of Music, Performer's Certificate, Master's Degree, and Doctor of Musical Arts from the Eastman School of Music and SUNY Stony Brook. Currently, she is accepting new students into her oboe studio.
