Biography

Jaein Lee is a lecturer at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, where she co-chairs the Data Wise Coach Certification program. Her research interests focus on institutional practices that support first-generation, low-income immigrant students of color, with a special emphasis on undocumented immigrant students. Her recent study explored how undocumented immigrant students demonstrate agency by using non-dominant values and practices while navigating a predominantly white university environment. In addition to her teaching, Lee provides teacher training aimed at using data collaboratively to improve equity in instructional practices in schools both nationally and internationally. Previously, she worked as a research analyst at the Annenberg Institute for School Reform at Brown University, where she provided site-based research and technical support for school districts engaged in projects related to college readiness and access, as well as family and community engagement with English Language Learners. Lee holds a B.A. from Bowdoin College, an M.A. from the University of Chicago, an Ed.M. in Education Policy and Management, and a Ph.D. in Education from Harvard University.
