Biography

James P. Barufaldi is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the College of Education, University of Texas at Austin. He serves as the Director of the Center for Science Mathematics Education and is the Principal Investigator for the Texas Regional Collaboratives for Excellence in Science Teaching. Barufaldi was selected as a member of the Academy of Distinguished Teachers in 2003 and teaches courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels in science education. He is currently investigating the process of building successful collaboratives in science education and the variables that contribute to high-intensity, sustained collaboration.
