Biography

James French is a Senior Lecturer in Management & Organizations at Boston University Questrom School of Business, where he has been part of the faculty since 2003. With over 30 years of experience in human resources in both business and governmental sectors, he teaches courses in Organizational Behavior, Career Management, and Global Ethics within the MBA program. Before joining Boston University full-time, he served as Executive Vice President for Human Resources at Hill Holliday Advertising and held senior human resource roles at Progress Software and Comverse Telecommunications, as well as Polaroid Corporation. His experience extends to public service, having worked with Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis for eight years, including positions as Commissioner of the Department of Employment and Training and the governor's personnel director. Additionally, James has been actively involved in various political campaigns and holds board positions, including chair of the Cardinal Cushing Centers in Hanover, Massachusetts.
